You can now get Kodi 18 Leia RC1 Android APK download along with iOS IPA and Windows, Mac versions. Here are the details on it.

We’ve been keeping tabs on Kodi v18 Leia as it has worked its way through quite a few different releases, all building towards today. We now have the very first release candidate for Kodi v18, which means that we are now at a point where all required features are built.

According to the team behind Kodi, we’re there have been quite a few changes throughout the time it’s taken to get this far, and some of the numbers are pretty impressive indeed.

As has become the norm, we’re being told that the number of changes and improvements that have gone into this new release candidate is almost impossible to collate, so we only have a changelog with the biggest improvements in it.

That’s still a fairly impressive feat, so if you want to know the ins and outs of what Kodi v18 has to offer at this particular moment in time, you’re welcome to check that out.

More than 9386 commits (code chunks changed)

More than 3000 pull-requests (collection of commits that were included in one go)

More than 8638 changed files

More than 503.000 code lines removed

More than 427.000 code lines added

Over 36 opensource developers

A lot of free time developing and testing these changes

Quite likely several cases of beer or wine

We aren’t going to go into the nitty gritty here either, but suffice it to say that this is the best Kodi has ever been and now that it’s at release candidate 1 it’s probably safe to install this if you want to try the latest and greatest build out for yourselves.

Remember though, this isn’t the final, polished build so there will still be the odd rough edge to deal with. That being said, we’ve heard good things throughout the testing process, so hopefully you’ll be just fine. You can download the APK for Android, iOS app, and even Windows or Mac version, from over at Kodi.tv/download.
