It’s Now More Expensive To Replace Your iPhone’s Battery At The Apple Store

Replacing your battery at the Apple Store is now more expensive than it was after the company increased prices as of March 1, 2023.

Apple had already warned that this change was coming and as of now, replacing the battery on an iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13 will cost a cool $89.

That’s a notable bump on the previous price of $69. Other models like the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE are also experiencing price bumps for their own respective battery swaps — increasing from $49 to $69.

The only models that haven’t had a price increase as part of today’s changes are the iPhone 14 opens, but they were already more expensive than others thanks to their $99 cost.

“Apple currently charges $69 for newer iPhone generations like iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11 and iPhone X. iPhone SE and iPhone 8 and earlier models are charged at $49. These prices will last until the end of February, and increase by $20 beginning March 1, 2023.” Apple had confirmed in January.

There are of course other options for people who want a new battery, but they’re problematic. Apple will tell you that getting your iPhone’s battery swapped out anywhere than an Apple Store or authorized repair center is dangerous, while you could do it yourself if you prefer. However, using third-party batteries does risk further issues down the line, not leas the possibility that it could swell and become dangerous.

Apple does offer various software features that are designed to help ensure that batteries remain as healthy as possible including smarter battery charging and power management. But all batteries eventually go bad, no matter how much you try to baby them.
