Galaxy S21 Ultra Vs iPhone 12 Pro Max Drop Test – Who Won?

The two hottest phones on the market right now are the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, so it’s perhaps understandable that a ton of people are comparing the two devices.

Those comparisons include all kinds of aspects, but there’s one that some people might overlook – durability. So, which stands up best to being dropped – the Galaxy S21 or iPhone 12 Pro?

That’s the exact question that YouTuber PhoneBuff set about answering with a new 7-minute video.

The process? Dropping both phones over and over to see what happens. And yes, the results were pretty interesting.

TEST NOTES:
– The standard drops (back, corner, and face) are conducted from 1m onto a concrete block.
– The “bonus” drops are meant to test impact and shock resistance, therefore are conducted from 1.45m onto a smooth steel surface.
– The bonus “bonus” round is conducted from 1.45m onto a concrete block.
– The footage of the iPhone 12 Pro Max was from our previous drop test.

We won’t spoil the fun for you because the video is well worth a watch, but it’s fair to say that the continued use of glass on both the front and back of these devices doesn’t help their longevity.

However, one of the two phones stood up to the punishment better than the other. Check out the video and see which phone that was!
