Fortnite fans rejoice, for the game has now received an update across all platforms with one big change for iOS fans that is sure to be very well received. It may have been far, far too long in the making, but Fortnite on iOS now supports controllers.
It may be hard to believe, but prior to the newly released version 4.30, Fortnite on iOS did not support physical controllers that were connected to either an iPhone or an iPad. It’s almost a year since Fortnite first made its debut on iOS, but gamers can now finally ditch the on-screen controls in favor of something a little more tactile.
There is, however, a catch. You won’t be able to use a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One controller here, so your only choice will be to pick up one of the few MFi controllers that don’t suck. The SteelSeries Nimbus is a popular option, but it’s been pretty useless as far as Fortnite is concerned, at least until now.
Mobile Controller Support
Bluetooth controller support has arrived in mobile on supported devices! Drop in and earn a Victory in a whole new way.
Alongside the addition of hardware controller support, Fortnite’s Epic Games has also managed to cram in a load of bug fixes that should improve performance throughout the game. In fact, there’s a whole host of changes to take in, including a new weapon called the “Chiller Grenade” as well as a new limited-time game mode called “Solid Gold.”
