Entry-Level AirPods Pro Without Noise Canceling Rumored For Early 2021 Launch

Apple will launch a new third-generation pair of AirPods as soon as the first half of 2021, according to a new report by The Elec.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard a similar rumor, but this report claims we can expect a design similar to AirPods Pro with a price around the $200 mark.

By offering a design similar to AirPods Pro Apple will be able to fix an issue many have with the standard AirPods – keeping them in their ears. However, to meet the lower price point the new AirPods won’t feature the same technology inside.

Apple will launch a Lite version of its Airpods Pro wireless earphones without noise canceling feature in the first half of 2021, TheElec has learned.

A person familiar with the matter said the Lite version will be priced 20% cheaper than the normal Airpods Pro which has noise canceling tech.

Apple currently sells the AirPods with Wireless Charging Case for the same $199 asking price, arguably making AirPods Pro a bargain given their capabilities. However, rather than reduce the price of standard AirPods, this report believes Apple will stick to the $200 price point.

We’ve been hearing rumors of AirPods Pro-like AirPods for more than six months at this point with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also making noises about the product. He believes the internals will be similar to AirPods Pro although, again, without features like ANC and Transparency Mode.
