EA Returns To Steam With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order In Tow

After parting ways with Steam nearly eight years ago to focus on its own distribution platform, EA has finally returned to Valve’s store.

The publisher announced the new partnership earlier today, three days after tweeting out a cryptic video thought to be a hint at its return to Steam. Given recent findings within the Steam database, many had speculated that EA may only make certain older titles available through the platform, keeping its latest and greatest games fenced within Origin. Those fears were allayed today, as EA kicked things off with none other than the highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The company promises more titles the likes of The Sims 4 and Unravel Two will hit the store “in the coming months.” Multiplayer titles such as FIFA 20, Battlefield V, and Apex Legends are slated for a 2020 release, with Origin and Steam users able to play these together.

Next year will also see the availability of EA Access through Steam, marking the first time a third-party subscription will have been made available through the platform. The subscription affords a selection of games free of charge in addition to in-game bonuses and discounts on EA’s catalog.
