You can download Kodi 17.5 Krypton Nightly Alpha APK for Android, IPA for iOS, Windows, Mac and more now. Here are the details.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the pace in which the Kodi team is pushing through improvements and platform refinements resulting in new releases for users to sink their teeth into. After pushing out Kodi 17.4 final release to the public just 72-hours ago, the Kodi team, which is spread out across multiple countries, has now released the first post-Kodi 17.4 build, offering compatibility for those running on an iOS, Android, Windows, or macOS-powered device.

As mentioned earlier, the final version of Kodi 17.4 made its way into the public domain for iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and all other supported platforms just three days ago. That release doesn’t mean that the Kodi team sits back, puts their feet up, and rests on their laurels. In fact, quite the opposite as the team has continued the hard work which has taken the platform to the mature point that it’s at right now. That hard work has seen a new Nightly build being released for the aforementioned support platforms and is labelled as 17.4, but since it’s released after the final version of 17.4, it’s safe to assume that this will be renamed to 17.5 in the later Nightly releases.

Frustratingly for end-users, and indeed for us, the Kodi team hasn’t issued any official release notes or changelog with this Nightly Alpha release, making it nigh-on impossible to give a granular breakdown of any new features included in the platform or any changes which may have made it into this build.

Given the history of Kodi, and the fact that this has come almost immediately after the release of Kodi 17.4 final version, we can safely assume that it brings a multitude of under-the-hood bug fixes, improvements, and security patches which are designed to make the software more stable and usable across all supported platforms.

The Kodi 17.4 final release included multiple changes, including a fix for native keyboards in iOS 11 as well as the removal of an annoying crash on Android caused by certain keymaps. There were also critical fixes put in place for the Windows platform where Python was causing crashes.

The team will now be hard at work on the next major version of the platform, that is Kodi v18, but in the meantime, we will continue to see updates like this one for Krypton being pushed out, which you can download right now for iOS, Windows, Android, or Mac from here.
