Download: Apple Releases tvOS 15.5.1 To The Public Just A Week After tvOS 15.5

Apple has today made tvOS 15.5.1 available to the public. The update comes just a little more than a week after Apple also made tvOS 15.5 available for download and did not have a beta program before today.

The new hardware is available for the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K and can be downloaded now via the Settings app.

Those who already have the automatic update feature enabled will likely already have the update installed on their devices. Everyone else can head to the Settings app and select the System > Software Update option.

Apple isn’t saying what this new software update has to offer but given its small update number we can likely assume that it is more about fixing bugs and and improving performance rather than adding any new features. That being said, people should definitely download and install the update now to avoid any potential issues in the future.

Apple is set to announce the tvOS 16 update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 6, although the update will not be made available to the public until later this year.

Little is known about what that update will offer, although we will find out soon. It’s also possible that Apple will announce new Apple TV hardware later this year, with talk of a Fire TV Stick-like device being on the horizon.
