Chimera 1.0.4 iOS 12 Jailbreak Update For iPhone XS, XR, iPad Pro Released

The growing-in-popularity Chimera jailbreak has been updated to version 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 in rapid succession. Announced via Electra Team’s social media account, it has been confirmed that Chimera version 1.0.4 is now available to download from chimera.sh.

We tend to find that things move extremely fast in the early days of a new jailbreak utility being released.

The engineering team tends to go through a prolonged period of testing prior to release but ultimately find that you can never have a real substitute for real device owners testing the jailbreak on real devices all over the globe. This real-time feedback from real users allows bugs and defects to be found and improvements to be made with iterative releases.

And that is exactly what we have here with versions 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 being released into the public domain in quick succession.

The first of the two releases, version 1.0.3, was pushed to offer a fix for RocketBootStrap issues:

Chimera 1.0.3 is now available on https://chimera.sh

This adds a fix for RocketBootstrap issues on certain devices and updates the bundled @GetSileo to version 1.0.5!

The following release, which came just a matter of hours later, took Chimera to version 1.0.4 and fixed a number of issues pertaining to SSH:

Chimera 1.0.4 is now available on https://chimera.sh/

This removes the broken SSH toggle on 1.0.3 and fixes non-working SSH

Both of those versions not only jailbreak A12 devices running firmware up to iOS 12.1.2 but also packs in the team’s Sileo app which the Chimera website dubs as a “modern package manager” full of “features and speed enhancements to make installing packages a breeze.” For those who may not be in the know, Sileo is essentially the team’s shot at entirely replacing Cydia which it claims is no longer fit for modern jailbreaking. Regardless of personal opinion on Sileo, it’s great to see that Chimera is constantly evolving and progressing to the betterment of the community since it’s initial release just a matter of days ago.

If you are already jailbroken using Chimera, or have simply been waiting for a few versions to be released to improve stability before you take that leap of faith, then you can act right now and grab the latest version – v1.0.4 – directly from chimera.sh, right now.
