The yearly Fall dashboard update for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is scheduled to roll out this fall. This year’s update, first announced at E3 2010, will feature UI tweaks, Kinect support, enhanced Netflix experience, improved Zune music, and an entertainment hub with ESPN Sports.
Remember when we said that Halo: Reach would be a sure shot blockbuster? As it turned out, we, among a gazillion others, were spot on. According to Microsoft, Halo: Reach has pulled in a whopping $200,000,000 ($200M) within first 24 hours of releasing.
Kinect for Xbox 360 will hit shelves this November. Microsoft has already sent out beta units to testers so that they can try out the Kinect hardware and the new software update with Kinect support which will drop this fall as a free update for all existing Xbox 360 owners. Folks involved in the beta program for the Kinect were kind enough to slip out some videos showing off the new Dashboard. Videos after the break.
Microsoft has just announced the pricing scheme of the Xbox 360 Slim + Kinect bundle. It costs an appropriate-but-still-slightly-expensive $399 in the United States and £300 in the UK.
Microsoft has just announced launch titles for games which are going to be available this fall on Xbox LIVE for Windows Phone 7. It should be no secret now that Microsoft is going to heavily rely on its already popular and established Xbox platform to bring firepower to this new mobile platform. Official list of launch titles for Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7 are as follows.
Modding the Xbox 360 firmware has been around for quite some time now which enables you to download images of games from different sources, burn them onto a DVD and run them on your console. Of course this is useful if you want to backup your discs but this is something Microsoft doesn’t want you to do for obvious reasons. The all new Xbox 360 Slim (or S) which was released in June 2010 at E3 had a new protection installed on the drive which made all the previous mods useless. But if this video is to be believed, hackers have managed to hack Xbox 360 S / Slim to run writable discs. Video after the break.
This is big news for Hulu users! The future of television is here!! The official Hulu blog has confirmed the popular American TV service for the iPhone, iPad, Xbox LIVE and PlayStation 3 platforms. Dubbed as Hulu Plus, this premium service will offer more than what you’d expect from Hulu’s free service. It will feature entire season of shows which are otherwise available in limited quantities only on the free service, as well as other programs that are not available via Hulu on the web.
Last week at E3, Microsoft refreshed its Xbox 360 lineup by releasing the all new super quiet Xbox 360 S. This is basically a 250GB model with refreshed design; includes built-in WiFi-N, a dedicated port for Kinect (formerly Project Natal), and more. This is by far the sexiest Xbox to date! And now, Microsoft has confirmed a new SKU for Xbox 360 S, along with Kinect bundles which will have Kinect motion sensor included as part of the whole package.
Yes, you read that right! Microsoft today at their E3 event has confirmed that Xbox 360 Slim is real, and is available as of today for US $299. This new model brings built-in Wi-Fi 802.11N, compatibility with Kinect for Xbox 360, and 250GB HDD.
Apparently, a new ad has popped up on some international sites (specifically Italian) which features the new “yet to be announced” Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim. The ads says that this new Xbox 360 includes built-in Wi-Fi, compatibility with newly announced “Kinect” for Xbox 360, and it sports 250GB of hard disk drive.
