It's fairly accurate to suggest that Microsoft won't be overly pleased with the fact that certain retail partners have jumped the gun a little when it comes to deliveries of the Xbox One console. We know of at least two Xbox One pre-order customers who have received the hardware weeks ahead of schedule thanks to a large glitch on Target's stock holding and delivery matrix. The requirement to run through the Day One initial update means that the receivers of the hardware really can't experience the Xbox One to its full potential, but it does offer us a rare opportunity to look at the latest Microsoft creation in greater detail and learn a little more about how it performs.
The PlayStation 4 is just a week away, and the Xbox One will follow seven days later, and so we're now fully braced for an hourly tirade of announcements, revelations and leaks pertaining the next-gen consoles. If you're looking forward to the Xbox One or perhaps are simply on the fence, wondering which of the two powerhouses you wish to spend your money on, The 'Xbox One All-in-One Demo with Yusuf Mehdi and Marc Whitten' might just help with your dilemma.
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are almost ready for the anxious gaming world to enjoy, and with just a couple of weeks to go until both machines hit the retail market, both Microsoft and Sony are currently on the campaign trail to woo gamers. Yesterday, Sony detailed some of the TV and movie apps for PS4 to be available from the get-go including Netflix and Hulu Plus, and today, Microsoft has done the same by unveiling the video apps already prepared for Xbox One early adopters. Call of Duty has come under scrutiny in recent years, with critics quick to point out that each new version is merely a rehash of the previous, and that Infinity Ward / Activision is simply milking what has certainly become something of a cash cow, and the $1 billion made in 24-hours is there to prove it. But now, as YouTube user satantribal has pointed out, there may be a great deal of truth in this claim, since it looks as though the same cut-scene from Modern Warfare 2 has been reused with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. A side-by-side video clip from both titles has been thrown together by the YouTuber that you can check out below, although it'd be a little cruel on some if we didn't throw in a customary spoiler alert.
With the Xbox One now just a few weeks from retail, many of the key details pertaining Microsoft's next-gen games console have already been revealed. But naturally, the Redmond has been saving some info for the build up to the release, and as we swiftly approach this all-important time frame, it has been revealed that every purchaser of the Xbox One will also get free access to Xbox Music, the streaming audio service to which many Xbox fans will already be accustomed. Unfortunately, it is ad-supported, so you will have to listen to numerous plugs for products and services you probably do not want, but nevertheless, this is definitely a win for music heads.
We're now at the eve of what will more than likely be the second-biggest gaming release of this calendar year, and with Call of Duty: Ghosts almost at retail, Activision has released a live-action trailer featuring the lovely Megan Fox. The clip, which runs for almost two minutes, is entitled "Epic Night Out," and you can check it out right after the break!
The official launch date of the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One is fast approaching and we are starting to get to that point where undecided consumers will be pulling together all of the resources possible to decide which hardware to opt for. The release of GTA V has proved that despite the small matter of the next-gen console battle upcoming, there's still life in both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 yet. Sales of the current generation machines may have spiked slightly in light of Rockstar's record-breaking title, but with little under a month to go before we see the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 hit the retail market, it's high time we focused our attentions on these two major releases. Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin has just delivered some stonking news for Call of Duty fans by noting that Ghosts, the latest addition to the popular franchise, will run natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4, and will be upscaled from 720p to full HD on Xbox One.
