When Apple announced the original iPhone back in 2007, perhaps the biggest thing that Steve Jobs spoke about at the time was the new way of inputting data onto the device. Before then, smartphones had clunky hardware keyboards and small screens but now, post-iPhone, things were going to change, with large screens and software keyboards becoming the norm.
Would you buy a Windows 8 PC from Ashton Kutcher? According to an article over at the New York Post, Mr. Kutcher could be on the cusp of being snapped up by PC maker Lenovo to star in a series of Windows PC ads. The deal is rumored to be fetching the actor the tidy sum of $10 million, and with the release of the indie movie Jobs - a motion picture starring Kutcher as the late, great Apple co-founder - now almost upon us, perhaps Lenovo intends to create an intriguing paradox in using a Jobs-like figure to flog Windows products.
As we keenly await for the GTA 5 release date, Rockstar Games has been continually teasing us with GTA 5 screenshots and cinematics of the game. The notebook market is becoming a very blurred environment, with touchscreen options and detachable keyboards crossing over with the tablet market on a frequent basis. These tablet-notebook devices are often referred to as hybrids, but Samsung has come through with an alternative kind of concoction by announcing a convertible that can dual boot Windows 8 and Android 4.2.2. Moreover, the ATIV Q packs in a fantastically sharp 3200x1800 13.3-inch display, and with an S Pen Stylus also a part of a device just 0.55 inches thick, this might just be the all-in-one you've been holding out for.
It's definitely common practice these days for video game producers to stir up as much hype as possible for their new titles before they actually land on our shelves. The gaming industry is literally worth billions of dollars across the globe, so drumming up plenty of pre-release excitement and interest definitely becomes worthwhile when those sales figures are eventually reported. As far as gaming franchises go, they don't come much bigger than Call of Duty, and if the latest trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts is anything to go by then it looks like gamers are in for a deep blue based treat when this one eventually lands.
When it comes to Football, or, for the sake of those in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and others, Soccer, Electronic Arts' FIFA series has long since been seen as the authority. As gamers continue to wait anxiously for the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 after it was delayed from Spring until September, Rockstar Games has sought to keep fans interested by releasing an image of the box art set to grace the cover of the title when it does finally release. Although the game itself should be head and shoulders above previous iterations in terms of visuals and aesthetics, the cover is every bit similar to the ones we're used to seeing from the old PlayStation 2 days. As well as giving us a glimpse of the cover, the publisher / developer also released another batch of GTA V screenshots earlier as a reminder of just how pretty the title is going to be.
