The big September 10th iPhone event is just days away, and with two new iPhones expected to be announced by the Cupertino-based outfit, it's fair to say that the tech industry is rather excited. Although we're now sure to the point of near certainty that we'll be seeing a low-budget iPhone 5C as well as a flagship iPhone 5S, nothing's set in stone until the official unveiling, although China Telecom has gotten ahead of the game having already begun advertising the as-yet non-existent handsets for pre-order.

PayPal is a great service itself and is remarkable to use, but their mobile apps for both iOS and Android, unfortunately aren’t - or maybe wasn’t, taking into account version 5.0 that has been rolled out today for both the smartphone platforms. The new and improved app brings much needed changes to the online payment portal on your phone or tablet, and we’ll be taking a look at the new offerings right after the break.
Hacking, as we've seen on many occasions, can be used for good as well as evil, or at least unscrupulous ends, but a new game for iOS by the name of 868-HACK plays down the wider issues by letting you have fun and essentially become a computer geek yourself. Of course, since it's made purely for entertainment, there's nothing amiss (although one suspects some App Store browsers may be initially off-put), and once you get into it, there's much fun to be had.

It's almost iPhone announcement day, and if we're honest we can't wait to be able to tell you about what Apple has announced, rather than play the guessing game that invariably accompanies any new iOS device's launch. We're headed towards that time of year again when Activision releases its next installment of Call of Duty. This year's offering - Call of Duty: Ghosts - is not due for a while yet, but to whet the appetites of the many Call of Duty fans, a new mobile title has just made its way to the iOS App Store. Call of Duty: Strike Team is set in the year 2020, and with more of that first-person action fans love now refined for mobile space, it's not one to be missed. At the IFA 2013 Press Conference today, Sony unveiled a bunch of new gadgets, such as the waterproof Xperia Z, including the much hyped DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 Cyber-shot smartphone lens cameras. Both the devices are scheduled for availability starting September 27, based on Amazon’s official listing, and are going to provide “DSLR-quality shooting from the convenience of a smartphone”. With Apple having sent out official event invites for their September 10th iPhone event only a while back, there’s little doubt left that Apple will in fact be debuting two different iPhone models this fall, including the iPhone 5S and the cheaper iPhone 5C.
