Earlier this week, Apple announced the much awaited iOS 4.2 update for the iPad. It brings tons of new features to iPad like Multitasking, Folders, Printing, AirPlay, Game Center and more. This update will surely make the iPad a perfect tablet for doing tons of things quickly and efficiently than ever before.
When we talk about touchscreen-only Tablets, the first device that pops up in mind is the iPad. It is an awesome device in many ways, provided that you find some good use for it. When iPad was launched earlier this year, it was pushed as a device to innovate the way we use our computers, just like what iPhone did with smartphones back in 2007.
Apple today has released iTunes 10 for both Windows and Mac OS X. This is a major release which brings lots of new feature to one of the most popular software around. Some of these features are highlighted below.
Apple has just announced iOS 4.2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It will be available in November of this year as a free update for all. Because of hardware limitations, not all the features will be available for all the iOS devices.
China Unicom, which happens to be the only official and authorized carrier in the world's largest cellphone market (China) for iPhones and iPads is going to provide full service to its customers, which includes jailbreaking, converting SIM Card to Micro-SIM, installation of 10 of the most popular apps from Cydia, and a free case on every new purchase of iPhone 4 and iPad 3G. This was spotted by a Chinese citizen on a large advertising banners outside some of the China Unicom’s stores, as can be seen in the images below.
iTunes App Store, which was launched back in 2008 with the introduction of iPhone 3G and iPhone software 2.0 (now iOS) has just passed a quarter million apps mark this Friday, with more than 50,000 developers working on them. As of the time of writing this article, the tally stands at 252,227 apps to date. This includes apps for all iOS based devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If inactive apps are to be counted, then the number of apps go way above 300,000. The Graph below shows the rapid rate at which the App Store is growing.
Apple’s Special Media Event: Preparation for the Launch of Next iPod touch 4 Begins in San Francisco
Apple has started hanging banners outside San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in preparation for the upcoming “Special Event” which will be held on September 1st, here in San Francisco. The large musical guitar banner which you can see in the images below hints towards a music-related event, as it has been for the last few years.
The iPhone Dev-Team has just posted an update on their official blog, giving warning to all those with newer devices like iPhone 4, iPad (on iOS 3.2.2), iPhone 3GS (New bootrom) and iPod touch 3G / 2G (MC-Model) to not update to iOS 4.0.2 as they wont be wasting another exploit for this minor firmware update. Instead, the focus will now be on finding a new exploit which could be used on the next major firmware update i.e. iOS 4.1. I’ll say that is a good move on their part given that final version of iOS 4.1 could be out as early as next week.
iOS 4 brought tons of new features to both the iPhone and iPod touch, the major one being multitasking or task switcher. One thing which Apple never fails to do is to impress us all with awesome new ads for their products. And so going by the trend, Apple today has released a brand new ad for iPad which is dubbed as “iPad is Delicious”. What is so delicious about it?
