Privacy - particularly in this most digital of times - is a massive deal. You don't have to look a great deal further than the commotion surrounding Google's big privacy policy amendment today to realize that consumers care a great deal about privacy, and will kick and scream to the high hills if said privacy is threatened in any way.
Most of us can recall that iconic "I’m a Mac" ad campaign by Apple some years ago, which saw Justin Long represent the Mac brand as a trendy, young, modern guy whilst John Hodgman was a comparatively old, middle-aged man carrying the flag for PC.
We can all sit back comfortably knowing that in the next few days the Apple rumor train, which has been rife recently, will soon descend back into the station, at least until we start nearing another product launch. In the last few days we were treated to reports which surrounded a leaked photograph of what was believed to be the front glass and digitizer for the soon to be announced third generation iPad. If the images found on the Sina Weibo, the Chinese Twitter equivalent, do represent the front panel for the new Apple tablet then it would appear that not a great deal has changed aesthetically other than the connection ribbon.
E-reading has become a hugely popular pastime over the last few years - largely attributable to the release of devices such as Amazon's Kindle and Apple's iPad tablet.
The majority of iOS device owners who choose to go down the root of jailbreaking, do so because of the functionality enhancements that it can provide. By installing Cydia as a byproduct of the jailbreak process, users are presented with a near endless supply of tweaks and modifications which can dramatically improve the already excellent user experience of an iPhone or iPad. One such tweak that can provide this enhanced experience is the one that we are pretty sure most community members have heard of, comes from developer Grant Paul (chpwn)and goes by the name of 'Zephyr'.
The Apple rumor mill can usually be described, at best, hit and miss. Sometimes we are amazed at how early some rumors begin and then ultimately turn on to be on the money. Other times, however, speculation turns out to be as far away from reality as possible. The conjecture which seems to be brought up and regurgitated the most seems to provide it with some legitimacy, and that is definitely the case with the mystery surrounding the possibility of a small iPad unit.
With Apple having now announced the iPad 3 showcasing on March 7th, many pundits are giddily speculating on the tech specs and availability of the fruit company's third tablet offering.
After many months of speculation, Apple has finally begun releasing invitations to relevant media outfits in preparation for a media event scheduled to take place in San Francisco on March 7th, which is about the next iPad.
Whenever we talk about jailbreaking an iOS device, we invariably mention the Cydia platform in the same paragraph. Whenever a jailbreak is processed using one of the main development tools, Cydia is a by-product and installed upon the device, allowing users to browse through all of the packages contained within. Even though users generally use Cydia on a daily basis, I would imagine that due to the fact that it contains a very simple to use front end, people would be unaware of the processes which take place behind the scenes.
With the invites to the Apple media event expected to be issued in the next few days, we are drawing ever closer to what we believe will be the official unveiling of the third generation Apple iPad. Speculation from people in the know is still pointing to an announcement on March 7th which, if historical behavior is anything to go by means that we should be seeing official invites hitting the inboxes of the lucky few in the coming days.
