Although today's special Apple keynote in San Jose is centered around the announcement of the iPad mini, lest we forget the Retina-displaying, 9.7-inch iPad complete with all the bells and whistles. Released back in March, the 3rd-Gen Apple slab brought a host of improvements on its predecessor such as the A5X processor for quad-core graphics, and today, in line with recent changes made by Apple, a slightly-amended version of the slate, dubbed as iPad 4th-generation has been announced today.
It’s finally here, folks! Apple has just announced the all-new iPad mini at their event today. It’s (mostly) exactly what the technology blogosphere was expecting: a smaller iPad 2. Check out all the basic specifications, pricing and availability after the jump!
Apple is all set to reveal a smaller iPad later today at their event in California Theatre in San Jose,CA, but we’ve come across news related to the next-generation “iPad 4”. Unlike devices like the iPhone and iPad that require software updates to push new content to the product, Apple have the ability to update the Apple TV home screens remotely and add new web-based content at will. Several keen-eyed Apple TV owners have noticed the appearance of the new Apple Events icon that is themed in similar fashion to the event invites that were distributed last week for today's press event that we suspect will be dedicated to the purported iPad Mini as well as being heavily focused on education. More on the event here.
Released a couple of days before the iPhone 5, iOS 6 has seen its fair share of criticism from technology enthusiasts but the way general consumers have upgraded to it so quickly to it is a shining example for the Android camp where users have to wait months for their smartphone manufacturer to be updated to the latest version of Android.
It isn't long now until the official Apple media event that we hope will eventually introduce us the new miniature iPad that we have been hearing so much about in recent months. It's extremely likely that the event this coming Wednesday will bring us more than just one product but so much attention and speculation has been lavished on the new iPad that it will be a relief to have some official information regarding it. With the announcement only days away, it seems like the Apple online store is already gearing up for customer searches by returning suggested "iPad mini" and "mini iPad" search strings.
According to a report from the generally-reliable 9to5Mac, the entry-level model of the upcoming iPad Mini will cost $329. Given the purported specification of the device, the price point was always going to be dramatically lower than that of the main iPad, and although it's not as cheap as the Nexus 7, it's still, one suspects, cheap enough to potentially command huge sales.
Among the three technology media events set for the last week of October – Microsoft’s Surface and Windows 8 launch event on 25th, Google’s event on the 29th, Apple’s event on the 23rd is the most heavily anticipated. It is widely expected to be centered around an all-new smaller iPad which is popularly referred to as the iPad Mini.
When talking about modern-day, handheld casual gaming, few can claim the kind of success as Rovio's Angry Birds, and what started out as one very simple, very addictive title, has turned into a billion dollar franchise spanning everything from phone cases, audio equipment, plush toys and more. Only recently, Angry Birds Space joined the party as the forth title in a series which has branched beyond mobile onto almost every platform imaginable, and now, Angry Birds Star Wars is almost upon us.
They say nothing in life is free, but when it comes to promotions for iOS and Android titles, that old cliché is thrown out of the window, for some of the very best apps – Fruit Ninja, Cut The Rope and even Angry Birds – have been available for the five-finger discount at some point in time. Now, the popular classic Carmageddon, which is just released on iOS, joins the list of titles to hold a promotional freebie, and you can download your free copy right now over at the iTunes App Store.
