When talking about modern-day, handheld casual gaming, few can claim the kind of success as Rovio's Angry Birds, and what started out as one very simple, very addictive title, has turned into a billion dollar franchise spanning everything from phone cases, audio equipment, plush toys and more. Only recently, Angry Birds Space joined the party as the forth title in a series which has branched beyond mobile onto almost every platform imaginable, and now, Angry Birds Star Wars is almost upon us.
Unless you've been living in a cave, or some other indeterminate, closed-off environment, you'll no doubt be aware that Call Of Duty: Black Ops II is scheduled for release next month. Rovio's latest Bad Piggies title on iOS and Android definitely brought a new challenge for mobile gamers to sink their teeth into, but if you happen to be a huge fan of the company's Angry Birds creation then November 8th may be a date that needs to be added to your diary. Fans of the Angry Birds franchise may have seen a teasing image from Rovio last week that had a number of people wondering if those pesky birds were about to move to the dark side. It seems that they are.
There’s no better stress reduction tool than taking control of something that you can fling at other objects in order to bring about total annihilation and creating utter chaos as you do it. Luckily for the designers and developers over at Rovio, they understood our need to break stuff and brought the fantastic Angry Birds title to our mobile and desktop devices which in turn catapulted them to the top of the iOS, OS X and Android charts. So what do you do after gaining so much success with a bunch of rage-filled birds? You take the next logical step, turn the tables around and release Bad Piggies.
The Call of Duty franchise is the most successful in the gaming world, and although the majority of gamers get their fix on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles, the next release of the record-breaking Activision series - Black Ops II - will also be coming to Nintendo's Wii U.
Grand Theft Auto, or GTA, is one of the most popular franchises known to man and console, and with publisher Rockstar Games having already dropped a couple of beautiful screenshots of the upcoming GTA V, fans of the series are increasingly anxious for news regarding availability.
Angry Birds is one of those games which either invokes emotions of extreme joy with mobile gamers, or manages to send you down the other path entirely and frustrate and annoy you to the point of deletion. As an iPhone and iPad owner, the game has single handedly managed to drive me round the bend as well as filling countless hours of boredom with the excitement that comes attached with flinging rage filled birds with varying powers at lethargic and nomadic swine. Regardless of my personal love-hate affair with the Angry Birds franchise, it's an undeniable fact that Rovio has enjoyed phenomenal success with the game, and if the latest teaser is anything to go by, then it looks like we could be in for another installment.
I’ve been waiting for this game since back in 2008 when I finished the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Check it out after the jump!
