Viber For iPhone and Android Adds Video Calling, Download The Update From Here

Ben Reid·September 11, 2014
Viber, a fierce rival to Skype in the world of VoIP, has just added a neat video calling feature to its mobile apps' repertoires, and not before time. Having remained a voice calling and instant-messaging service for a number of years on mobile, it's now adding what most would see as a fairly necessary, if not critical feature, and with both the iOS and Android apps having been updated and rolled out simultaneously, we've got the details and download links right here.

Apple To Start Digital Queuing System For iPhone 6 At Stores To Simplify Buying Process

Ben Reid·September 11, 2014
Apple's iPhone launch days are always busy, and if you've ever previously queued for the latest device on the very first morning, you'll know that it can be a long, tedious wait. Sure, the system whereby staff hand out paper cards, detailing the exact configuration of the iPhone you require is efficient, since it means you're not wasting time if the specific handset you want has sold out, but given the technology at Apple's disposal, the process does seem rather antiquated. This is why, on iPhone 6 launch day, Apple will be rolling out an entirely new, digital queuing system, a revamp of the old model that is more precise and flexible for customers.

HTC And Samsung Mock Apple’s Brand New iPhone 6 And iPhone 6 Plus

Ben Reid·September 11, 2014
It was inevitable that after the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, some of Apple's fiercest rivals would jump on the news with a few opinions of their own, and while Taiwanese outfit HTC has sought to make a mockery of the Cupertino's big launch, Samsung also couldn't resist having a little dig at its fiercest rival. Find out what they said after the break!

Here’s A Quick Hands-On Demo Of How Apple Pay Works [Video]

Ben Reid·September 11, 2014
Apple Pay will be integral to the iOS experience moving forward, and while both of the company's new iPhone models are equipped with NFC to begin processing mobile payments very soon, Apple Watch will also be joining the party when the wearable line-up launches early on next year. We've heard much about Apple Pay already over the past 24 or so hours, and courtesy of a new hands-on video demonstration, we get to see how a typical payment at an Apple Pay-ready retailer will pan out.

Size Comparison: iPhone 6 Plus Vs Galaxy Note 4 Vs Lumia 1520 Vs LG G3

Ben Reid·September 11, 2014
Apple's announcement of the iPhone 6 Plus is not only significant in that it's a great deal larger than any smartphone the company has created before, but it also drafts the Cupertino company into the realm of the "phablet." A term derived from the combination of phone and tablet, these large handsets have taken the smartphone world by storm over the past few years, and while Samsung's Galaxy Note was the originator of this niche market, it now shares this space with several rivaling vendors. Below, you can take a look at how the iPhone 6 Plus stands up - in terms of size and specs, both - against the also-new Galaxy Note 4, Nokia's Lumia 1520 and LG's mammoth G3.

Apple Working To Improve Current One-Day Battery Life Of Watch Before Launch

Ben Reid·September 11, 2014
Apple finally took the wraps off its inaugural smartwatch efforts yesterday, and although the introduction was rather brief, new tidbits of information are emerging all the time. One detail conspicuous by its absence was that of battery life, which Apple scarcely discussed. While both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus got a detailed breakdown of battery life, there wasn't so much as a mention of the Apple Watch's retention rates, and it has now been suggested that this is because Apple wants to improve the current state of play prior to the roll-out next year.

18-Karat Gold Apple Watch Edition Includes A Fancy Jewelry Box That Doubles As Charger

Ben Reid·September 10, 2014
Yesterday at the Flint Center in Cupertino, Apple took the wraps off three different specifications of its long-awaited watch. The standard Apple Watch for the general market, the fitness and activity-aimed Watch Sport, and the Watch Edition, focused on bringing a premium, high-end look to the line-up. The launch of the Watch series was fairly brief due to the fact that Apple was quite pressed for time, but even though we didn't get all of the details, new info is now coming to light.

Apple Watch Is Water-Resistant Like Nike+ FuelBand, But Not Waterproof

Ben Reid·September 10, 2014
After the simultaneous launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus yesterday, we had a sneaking suspicion that Apple's eagerly-awaited wearable would be next, and after years of on-off rumors, the Apple Watch trio was finally revealed. As expected, the Apple Watch is abundant with sensors and, by all accounts, is ready to take on the elements as wearers seek to attain optimal fitness and general health. But while it is water-resistant and will be able to deal with sweat or a spot of rain, it's not waterproof, and as such, should not be taken into the bath or the shower.
