Google offers a bunch of fantastic apps at stock level for Android users, and Calendar certainly falls into that category. However, it's far from perfect, and a third-party offering by the name of Agenda rather novelly helps you keep track of everything at a glance - presenting both your weekly and daily to-dos in the same convenient pane. Having been knocking about for iOS for a long while now, Agenda finally arrives for Android, and where a year or so ago, a port from iOS to Android or vice versa would result in a second-grade product, the version made for those on Google software is just as good.
Microsoft's Surface RT tablet may have been out for a couple of months now, but those with a keen eye for higher-end technology would doubtlessly have put their purchase on hold for the Pro version. It has long since been common knowledge that the Intel-powered device would be arriving at some point in January, and whilst a release date has still not been revealed, it will be hitting the retail market later, rather than sooner in the month.
If you like gaming, but haven't the time, space, or dedication to invest in a games console from the likes of Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony, enjoying high-end games on your HDTV is something you probably don't get to do that often. But never fear, because one group of Kickstarter enthusiasts have not only got your back, but are looking to revolutionize the way many of us enjoy gaming on the big screen with small, portable console capable of running Android games on a TV.
Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia is reportedly prepping a bunch of new Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices this year, according to a report TheVerge, whom Nokia is also said to have revealed plans to opt for a delectable aluminum body for at least one of the higher-end models. Currently codenamed Catwalk, it will also take on a thinner and lighter form factor than the current flagship - the Lumia 920.
The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES as it is most often referred to, is without a doubt one of the biggest date in the tech calendar. While there are plenty of rumored and confirmed announcements to look forward to, Samsung has been working tirelessly to ramp up momentum in anticipation for the event. Having made a solid foundation in the touch-based market with a fleet of Android smartphones and tablets, Sammy is hedging its bets with a couple of Windows 8 hybrids, named Chronos and Ultra.
With three months having passed since the release of the iPhone 5, we've just about reached a period we can deem acceptable to begin talking of its successor. The rumors have gathered a great deal of this past week, with various analysts chiming into the argument with predictions of multiple color configurations and multiple screen sizes. Sticking with the theme of display alterations, the latest whispers suggest Apple will scrap the recently-implemented in-cell touch technology instead favoring a new “touch-on-display” technology created by Chimei Innolux.
In terms of inputting information into our mobile devices, gaming and typing are two of the activities we tend to do - to varying degrees - on a daily basis. Game developers have done a stellar job in adapting so quickly to the touch-based interface, but when it comes to accuracy - as well as full-screen gaming enjoyment - a physical controller is still the way forward. As far as the iPhone is concerned, there are plenty of third-party gaming controllers on the market, but the Ex Hybrid Controller for iPhone from iPhone5mod is unique and looks fantastic.
There was quite a bit of buzz about the Ubuntu Website earlier on today, as the countdown banner approached a special announcement at 8AM ET. The hints of a touch-based operating system were there for all to see, and today, the company behind the Debian Linux operating system has put fans out of their misery with the unveiling of a smartphone OS.
When it comes to rumors pertaining any one of Apple's vast Mac range, we often find ourselves churning up the same reported specifications as the previous year, minus the one or two exceptions that actually made the cut last time around. That is certainly the case with the latest report, which suggests the Cupertino will pack a new chipset into its updated Mac models this year, offering ridiculously-speedy 802.11ac network speeds. For those of you that remember, a similar notion was present prior to last year's refreshes, and although it never did materialize, it's none too surprising to see the same rumors crop up once more.
