The patented Slide to Unlock feature is one of the most recognizable features of Apple's iOS ecosystem, but once you've slid and unlocked a couple of times, it's fair to say the text reminder becomes rather redundant. Needless to say, it would be nice if we could put some different information in that box, and while we wait in hope for Apple to bring such an implementation, one tweakster has already come through with a jailbreak option by the name of Sliderz.
Digital SLRs provide the most enhanced level of photography in the entire industry, but their almost inherent lack of Wi-Fi capability has seen lower-level point-and-shoot devices to fill in a gap for those serial sharers. Those familiar will recall the DSLR Controller app, which bridged the gap between Canon EOS shooters and the world wide web via an Android device, and now, Chainfire has come through another hacker's special involving a create-your-own Wi-Fi Stick.

As anticipated, Nokia has announced its follow up to the 808 PureView with the 41-megapixel Lumia 1020. The Finnish outfit's main selling point in the Lumia range has been its record of solid camera's but the Lumia 1020 looks to take things up a few gears with a device that looks, in many respects, like a thinned-out pocket camera.
A new study by Internet auction house eBay has drawn perhaps the least surprising conclusion on our mobile usage habits, discovering that we are, collectively, addicted to apps. Having challenged 200 iPhone users to go four whole days without their favorite mobile apps, eBay found that a whopping third of participants could not go the distance, while more than half were less happy without streamlined access to their content.
When it comes to Android smartphones, only the Samsung Galaxy S range can stake a claim to being more keenly sought than a new Nexus handset, and while talk of an LG-manufactured Nexus 5 has been rife for a good while now, a Korean site claims the device will arrive in October. Notably, the Nexus 5 will run on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and with a high-end spec list to match, could be a killer device to challenge the collaborative effort from Motorola and Google.
