Guitar Amp Maker Marshall Announces Its First Smartphone

Aatif·July 17, 2015
These days, it seems it has become sort of a trend in the tech world for companies that don't usually make smartphones to jump onto the bandwagon, with Kodak being a prime example here. This is further made easy thanks to the open-source nature of Android. Not wanting to stay behind, Marshall - the company that made a name for itself in the world of guitar amps - has announced its own Android smartphone. What's unique about this device is the fact that it's aimed directly at audiophiles, with music-focused features that will put to shame even the top of the line flagships of today (but only in the music department, of course).

Google Play Music Launches Free Ad-Supported Radio Streaming Service

Aatif·June 24, 2015
Apple took on the big names in the music streaming space when it announced Apple Music at WWDC this year. However, that doesn't mean that Apple’s competitors in this space will just sit and not do anything. Today, the Mountain View company announced its free music streaming tier to the already-rich Google Play Music, which will basically serve as a curated, ad-supported radio station selection for non-subscribers (read: free users) of the search giant's music offering. The new free tier of Google Play Music is all set to take on Apple's iTunes Radio service, and the upcoming Beats 1 radio station, which is going to be a part of Apple Music.

Nexus 5 Is Making A Comeback With A Surprise New Feature [Video]

Aatif·June 2, 2015
At Google I/O this past week, the search giant made it abundantly clear that it's serious about pushing ahead with fingerprint sensor technology, so much so that Android M - the next iteration of Google's open-source smartphone and tablet operating system - will carry a native fingerprint API that manufacturers can make use of for better integration. To drive the point home, the company showcased a video that exhibits how fingerprint-enabled devices will work on Android M, once the feature is fully implemented. What we found interesting however, was the fact that amid the video, the lady pulls out what appears to be a Nexus 5 carrying a fingerprint sensor.
