Apple’s Future Macs Will Reportedly Come With New 1080p FaceTime Cameras

Apple’s FaceTime cameras have long been mocked for their less than ideal 720p resolution at a time where many people are working from home and relying on them for video calls. That could be set to change however, with a new leak suggesting that we can expect all future Macs to come with fancy 1080p cameras instead.

That leak comes via Twitter leaker Dylankt, who says that while it’s fair that current Macs are getting some stick for being behind the times, that will be changing in the future.

The tweet came after a YouTube video further drew attention to the current state of Apple’s cameras.

I know a lot people are referencing Linus’s video (which is a great video by the way) but it’s good to note that the upcoming MacBook Pro will actually be getting an updated improved 1080p webcam for the next model and so will the entire Mac lineup.

Apple currently offers 1080p cameras in its iMac lineup and it’s surely only a matter of time before it brings those same shooters to the rest of the Mac family.

Apple is heavily rumored to be ready to announce new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebooks before the end of this year, so it might not be all that long before the FaceTime camera upgrades are out in the wild.
