Apple Shares Video Showcasing New iPadOS 13.1 Features

Now that Apple has iPadOS 13.1 in the hands of iPad users around the globe, it’s making sure everyone knows about the new features they should be taking for a spin. To do that, it’s shared a new minute-long video to YouTube.

The video covers off all of the highlights that you might expect, including the ability to use external storage drives with an iPad. That alone is worth updating to iPadOS 13.1, but there’s plenty more going on here, too.

If you’ve ever struggled to take a screenshot of a full Safari window then you’re absolutely going to enjoy the option to do exactly that here. And there’s a new screenshot markup feature if you’re using an Apple Pencil as well.

Another of the new features is the ability to easily edit videos right from the built-in Photos app. That’s a feature that comes to the iPhone, too.

With the iPad skipping iPadOS 13 and going straight to 13.1, iPad users are hopefully going to miss out on some of the glaring bugs that iPhone owners have had to put up with over the last week. For that, they should definitely be grateful, but we still expect there to be the odd issue here and there.

If you haven’t yet downloaded the iPadOS 13.1 update, we’d suggest doing exactly that, especially if you’re an iPad Pro owner who hopes to use the tablet as a replacement for their notebook computer. The changes that are part of this update will certainly help in that endeavor.
