The Cupertino outfit managed to shift 35.2 million iPhones this quarter, compared to 43.7 million it sold in the previous. This shift in trend is something which we’ve become accustomed to in the years, considering that a new iPhone is on the horizon. Compared to same time last year, Apple has managed to sell 12.7% more iPhones this time.

Coming to the iPad, Apple has managed to sell 13.2 million units, which is a full 9% down compared to number of iPads Apple sold this time last year.

The Mac is still growing strong, and the company notes that it has managed to sold 4.4 million units. According to Apple CEO Tim Cook in the official press statement:

Our record June quarter revenue was fueled by strong sales of iPhone and Mac and the continued growth of revenue from the Apple ecosystem, driving our highest EPS growth rate in seven quarters

The iPod has seen a dramatic slow-down over the years, and this time things aren’t that different, with the Cupertino company managing to shift only 2.9 million units. Despite the launch of a cheaper, fifth-generation iPod touch, which is a great iOS device to begin with, the numbers haven’t really taken off for Apple despite its best efforts, and it will be interesting to note how things pan on as we move towards the holiday season and new numbers are revealed.

We’re certain that these numbers will see a dramatic turnaround when Apple comes through with new devices for the lucrative holiday season. And if all the reports on the interwebs are to be believed, then we’re destined to see two new iPhones this year, along with a couple of new iPads, maybe an Apple TV refresh, and an iWatch too, if we’re lucky enough.
