As Rovio Reaches 250 Million Game Downloads, Executive Producer of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger Plans on Serving as Executive Producer of Future Angry Birds Films

Rovio announced today that David Maisel is becoming a Special Advisor to Rovio. In his previous role as Chairman of Marvel Studios and EVP, Office of Chief Executive at Marvel Entertainment, David transformed Marvel Entertainment by launching Marvel Studios and its first self-produced and self-financed films including Iron Man. This isn’t the first move Rovio has made toward an Angry Birds film. According to TNW, the company recently purchased Finnish firm, Kombo, who are known for their work on animated films in the country. Maisel is clearly seen as a key piece of the movie-jigsaw by Rovio.

Having reached the 250 download mark, there is little doubt that Angry Birds has what it takes to be a runaway success at the Box Office, just like the umpteen games featuring the loveable animals.
