64GB iPhone 4 Models Are On Sale In Hong Kong – Report
Is Apple working on a 64GB iPhone model? Well according to a report published by MIC Gadget, “Engineering Prototype” models of iPhone 4 which sports 64GB storage capacity are currently being sold in grey markets of Hong Kong, China.
According to Unwire.hk, this suspicious 64GB model has started selling in Sin Tak, the greatest grey market in Hong Kong, and the sellers claimed that these are engineered models and available in small quantity. Interestingly, the back of the phone states iPhone XXGB! That reminds us the leaked prototype last year, the one Gizmodo bought it. It also states the Model no. as XXXXX, and the FCC ID as BCG-XXXXXX. On the screen, you can see is indeed a 64GB capacity and the model is 995-6049LL. And the phone is not locked! Any ideas what’s going on here?
While we are not sure if these particular models on sale are authentic, but what we do know (remember the leaked iPhone 4?) is that “XX” on the back of iPhones generally represents Apple prototype models.
So is Apple working on a 64GB version for the next-gen iPhone 5? We are not sure, but what we can all be sure of is that Apple is going to launch a new iPhone, together with iOS 5 in summer this year.
