An update has just been released to the Evasi0n7 jailbreak tool, bringing the latest version’s release number up to v1.0.7. Just over one week after the Evad3rs team announced version 1.0.6 to jailbreak iOS 7.0.6, today’s update offers bug fixes pertaining to bundled package lists, which, for some, weren’t automatically updating via Cydia. If you haven’t encountered this issue, then there’s no reason for alarm, although if you’re planning on jailbreaking your device in the immediate future, then Evasi0n7 version 1.0.7 is where it’s at. This isn’t a significant update, and if you’ve been running on a jailbreak achieved by a previous version of Evasi0n without issue, then you’ve no need to re-jailbreak or anything like that.
Besides the bug fix, there are no other noteworthy alterations to the Evasi0n7 tool, and as such, the steps to jailbreaking iOS 7.0.6 remain pretty much unchanged. Before you go ahead and jailbreak your device, please make sure you update / restore via iTunes, using the appropriate iOS 7.0.x IPSW. Trying to jailbreak over an OTA update has proven problematic time and again so, if you want to get through this process in a swift, incident-free fashion, be sure not to take any short-cuts by simply updating over-the-air. Instead, connect your device to your PC or Mac, and update / restore before proceeding.
