Although most of Apple’s products, barring the almighty new Mac Pro, are produced in China, the world’s most populous nation usually has to wait many months before the Cupertino’s products see an official release. According to China’s First Financial Daily, this won’t be changing any time soon, with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C – both set to be announced on September 10th – apparently not arriving to the Chinese market until November 28th.
There’s no doubt that the Chinese market could be huge for Apple, and the iPhone 5C is set to serve as a key component in a new surge to expand the Cupertino’s business in China. But without clearing from the the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, nether device can sell, and although this isn’t the entire reason for the lengthy delays when compared with the likes of the US and much of Europe, it’s a contributing factor.
Although Apple’s release cycle for the iPhone has, for a long time, stood at just one per year, the introduction of the iPhone 5C alongside the iPhone 5S will no doubt help to increase the company’s market share by not only courting the developing markets, but also those consumers who were perhaps previously unwilling or unable to spend the kind of money Apple charges for its flagship handsets.
The budget iPhone 5C device is expected to be laden in polycarbonate, and with a range of colors, should also appeal to the younger market. With a 4-inch Retina display and a reported 8-megapixel camera, as well as an Apple A6 processor, the hardware on offer is certainly generous, although this has led some to suggest that the low-cost iPhone may not be as low-cost as some are naively hoping.
The high-end iPhone 5S is likely to include a 12-megapixel camera with dual flash, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button, and a gold color option, as well as up to 128GB of storage for those looking to stock up on content.
Naturally, the processor will also be improved, and while the design is set to remain largely unchanged from the iPhone 5, the impressive new hardware, along with the fact that the current flagship is already a beautiful handset, will leave very few consumers complaining.
