xAI Claims Its Newly-Launched Grok-3 AI Model Offers Better Performance Than ChatGPT-4

The world of artificial intelligence companies and generative AI continues to hot up, with X owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s xAI company announcing its new Grok-3 offering.

Notably, the announcement unveiling the new model claims that it’s faster than OpenAI’s GPT-4 as well as Google’s Gemini.

The new generative AI model was announced via a post to the xAI account on the X social network, with the company claiming that it offers improved reasoning capabilities thanks to a pair of modes dubbed “Think” and “Big Brain.”

“Think” is designed to show off the AI’s reasoning when dealing with requests, while the “Big Brain” alternative is built with handling computationally intense tasks in mind, xAI says.

The Grok-3 model is part of the Grok generative AI that is available to X Premium Plus subscribers which costs $40 per month having previously been available for just $22 per month. However, xAI is also offering a new SuperGrok tier that is priced at $30 per month and offers what the company claims is “the most advanced capabilities and earliest access to new features.”

Those who want to take advantage of Grok-3 can do so now via the Grok app which means that, despite being linked to the X Premium Plus subscription, users won’t need to use the X app to access the new generative AI features.
