Unboxing iPhone 5s And Blue iPhone 5c [VIDEO]

This morning, September 20th, Apple has started to sell the iPhone 5s to consumers queued up around the world. I trekked it off at 5am this morning to my local Apple Store to be one of the first to have access to the new Apple smartphone, and can say I’m definitely not disappointed with the two products I picked up. Now in my possession are the iPhone 5s in ‘Space Gray’, and the iPhone 5c in light blue.

I thought I’d put together a video unboxing both the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, so you can get a feel for the experience should you wish to purchase either of these phones yourself. That video can be found below. Interestingly, the packaging between these phones varies greatly. With the iPhone 5s, you’ll find the traditional style packaging we always expect with Apple devices, however with the 5c, the packaging reminds me of an iPod Touch unboxing experience. Gone are the right angled corners, replaced instead with smooth curves obviously aimed at replicating the unibody design of the 5c handset itself.

After unboxing the iPhone 5c, I was expecting to find a relatively cheaply made phone, reminiscent of an iPod touch with a cellular radio. I was extremely pleasantly surprised, when I happened to take out of the box a phone that feels just as nice to use and hold, if not more, than the iPhone 5 or 5s. The unibody construction mixed with the perfect combination of heft and lightness make this phone a joy to experience. Combine all of this with Apple’s new software, iOS 7, and the iPhone 5c becomes a much more appealing package than I thought it would be after their keynote.

All of us here at Redmond Pie would be extremely interested to hear what, if any, iPhone you’d be interested in purchasing. From my experience this morning at Apple’s retail store, I’d wager that the iPhone 5s in gold is going to be an extremely popular combination for consumers, but be sure to let us know which you may or may not be picking up in the comments down below. Stay tuned to Redmond Pie for much more coverage of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.
