TrendForce: iPhone 13 Will Sell For Same Price As iPhone 12 But Don’t Expect A 1TB Storage Option

Apple’s iPhone 13 will sell for the same price as the iPhone 12 lineup according to a new report. Apple increased the price of iPhone 12 devices over the previous iPhone 11 and some had wondered whether a similar thing would happen this year.

According to a new TrendForce report, the iPhone 13 will carry the same price tag as the previous models, while up to 223 million units are expected to be sold – thanks in part to the loosening of COVID-19 restrictions in the United States and Europe.

The lack of Huawei availability in the former is also expected to serve Apple well.

In terms of improvements, TrendForce believes we can look forward to new cameras for the iPhone 13 model, although the report uses the name iPhone 12s for reasons unknown.

On the camera front, Apple has upgraded all iPhone 12s handsets’ main cameras to include sensor-shift image stabilization technologies. For the Pro models, not only are their ultra-wide cameras now equipped with 6P lens (which is an upgrade over the previous generation), but they are also capable of autofocus functions. Notably, it should be pointed out that LiDAR scanners are available in the Pro models only.

The report also notes that Apple has already stopped production of iPhone 12 mini devices, thanks to lower than expected demand for the diminutive powerhouse. Where that leaves future iPhone mini products remains to be seen, but we do expect one to arrive this year at least.

All being well we expect Apple to announce the iPhone 13 lineup in or around September.
