The New 15-Inch MacBook Air, Mac Studio, And Mac Pro Are Now Available

Apple has today made its first 15-inch MacBook Air, the newly upgraded Mac Studio, and first Apple silicon Mac Pro available for sale.

All three new Macs were first announced during the WWDC event on June 5 and today marks the first day that they have been available to buy direct from Apple.

The 15-inch MacBook Air starts at $1299 and comes with a 15.6-inch display and an M2 chip inside. The laptop is almost identical to the 13-inch version but with the larger display and improved speaker system.

Beginning today, the new 15-inch MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro powered by Apple silicon are now available. With an expansive 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display, the performance of M2, and all-day battery life in a thin and light, fanless design, the new MacBook Air is the world’s best 15-inch laptop. With M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra, Mac Studio is a performance powerhouse in a compact design. The new Mac Pro combines the incredibly powerful M2 Ultra with PCIe expansion, and also marks the completion of the Mac transition to Apple silicon. For Intel-based Mac users, every Mac is now a gigantic upgrade. And for PC users, there has never been a better time to switch to a Mac.

The upgraded Mac Studio starts at $1999 for the M2 Max and $3999 for the M2 Ultra versions while the M2 Ultra Mac Pro starts at $6999. Both machines are identical in terms of performance when specced with the same M2 Ultra chip, although the Mac Pro has space for internal expansion.

However, the Apple silicon Mac Pro does not support graphics cards or RAM upgrades, making it notably less capable than the old Intel Macs in that regard. However, early benchmarks do suggest that the new Mac Pro is around twice as fast as the fastest Intel version that was previously on sale.

Education pricing is of course available, while those who buy via that storefront will also receive an Apple gift card with $150.
