The NBA iPhone App Gains Live Activities Support

A big update has rolled out for the NBA app on the iPhone, with the release adding support for one of iOS 16 and iPhone 14 Pro’s best features.

The new NBA app adds support for Live activities, a feature that puts NBA scores on the Lock screen on all compatible iPhones and in the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The new update also adds a number of other improvements including a new mute button.

This update includes:

– Follow NBA scores right from your Lock Screen with iOS 16 Live Activities. Just tap “Follow” in Game Details or long press on a live or upcoming game on the Games tab.
– The video player now includes a mute button.
– Bug fixes and improvements to bring you the best possible fan experience.

The updated NBA app is now available for download for free in the App Store and those who have automatic updates enabled might already have it installed without realizing. For everyone else, the update will be available in the App Store updates section.

If you haven’t yet installed the NBA app now is the time, with the regular season set to get underway on April 9 and the playoffs beginning on April 11. Live Activities will make it easier than ever to stay up to speed on the latest basketball scores.
