Microsoft has just released Silverlight 4 based facebook client for both Windows and Mac OS X. Back in April last year, Microsoft showed off a proof of concept facebook client which was made using facebook’s Open Stream API on Silverlight but unfortunately that never saw the light of the day. After a long wait, they have finally released a fully working client for users running Windows and OS X – with full capability to run it out-of-the-browser.
After the targeted cyber attacks on human right activists Gmail accounts that originated in China, the dismayed authorities at Google has threatened to withdraw its services from China, saying that it can no longer censor its search results on the Chinese version of Google homepage i.e. Google.cn. Google, in a detailed blog post said that if it is unable to find a way to operate an unfiltered search engine within the Chinese law, which currently requires it to block access to millions of websites, it will have no option but to close its operations in China.
Adobe for the last one year or so has been actively involved in developing Flash Player for Android platform. They were quick to show off a demo of Flash Player 10.1 running on the Nexus One following the official announcement of the said phone by Google. Adobe, Google, Qualcomm and HTC are working together to deliver Flash Player on Nexus One in the spring of this year to one up the rival Apple’s iPhone which lacks the Flash Player capabilities since the original iPhone in 2007.

The annual Leonid meteor shower will peak on the dawn of November 17th (or 18th in some places) and will be visible all over the world. According to NASA, the best time to view the Leonid meteor shower in United States is after 1:30 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time) on 17th.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA in Jun 09, launched a lunar satellite into orbit, which was to fire a rocket booster at 5,600 MPH velocity into a Moon crater near the Southern Pole of the moon, to cause a six-mile-high explosion with the hope to find water on the Moon. NASA scientists were eager to see LCROSS (Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite) launching a Centaur rocket into the moon to cause a big blast in the crater. The massive explosion kick up 350 metric tons of debris, letting the trailing satellite cameras analyze the mess for signs of water. Scientists scouring the surface of Earth's satellite to search for a precious resource called “Water”. The satellite due some reasons could not be scheduled to reach the moon until October 8.
Hi-tech Warship USS New York, LPD-21, whose stem bow has been constructed out of the seven and a half tons of steel recovered from World Trade Center's twin towers site after the 9/11 catastrophe, has finally sailed today for its namesake city. Built in New Orleans, USS New York at the moment is heading towards NYC where it is going to be commissioned next month. It was christened "New York" to honor the 9/11 attack victims in that city.
Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration which was first unveiled at Google I/O conference in May. Wave is basically Google’s attempt at how email would look if it were invented today. Google will officially roll out Wave (Preview) to the first 100,000 users who have signed up for the service through Wave site (http://wave.google.com), to developers who are already enrolled in developer preview program of Wave, and selected paying customers of Google Apps.
