Steve Jobs Movie Receives Two Oscar Nominations At 88th Academy Awards

Danny Boyles' Steve Jobs movie may go down in the historical charts as a financial box office flop, but that hasn't stopped it from notching up a number of nominations for those involved in the project. The 88th Academy Awards are set to be held on February 28th, with nominations for the event taking place this morning at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in the prestigious Beverley Hills area of Los Angeles County. Out of the twenty-four available categories, the Aaron Sorkin adapted screenplay has been nominated in a couple of different categories.

Steve Jobs Movie Wins Two Awards At The 2016 Golden Globes

The Steve Jobs movie may well go down in history as being remembered for its lackluster box-office performance, but it didn't fair too badly at 73rd Golden Globe Awards. After being nominated for four awards in total, the movie managed to secure the vote for half of those nominations, picking up two gongs during the ceremony. Aaron Sorkin took home the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay and Kate Winslet managed to capture the attention of those casting their votes, winning the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role award for her acting alongside Michael Fassbender.

Continuing the trend of honoring Jobs, the documentary "Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine" saw a wider theatrical and VOD release today, with an initial score of 75-percent at the movie review aggregator, Rotten Tomatoes.
