You may have thought, with the San Jose court ruling, Samsung has to pay Apple in excess of a billion dollars for infringing on its patents and keeping it cool for copying its ideas - at least for a bit. The video of Samsung's new Sydney retail store made us all chuckle a couple of days ago for its almost inch-by-inch emulation of an Apple retail store, and now, it looks as though the Korean outfit is after snippets of Apple's desktop operating system.
If you can bring yourself to look past the fact that you have just spent a whole heap of money on excellent Apple hardware to run OS X, then it actually makes sense to be able to install a version of Windows alongside the default operating system. By means of a press release, Apple has announced its OS X Mountain Lion has amassed three million downloads in just 96 hours, rendering it most successful operating system release ever for Apple.

Available for less then twenty dollars via the Mac App Store, the update to Mountain Lion is all geared around building on top of your current, working system. Now that the wait is finally over and Apple has made its latest desktop operating system available for download through the Mac App Store, the time has come for the public to give OS X Mountain Lion a whirl and see just what all the fuss is about. Mountain Lion has been getting some extremely positive press over the last few months due to the range of impressive new features which Apple has added, while at the same time taking some cues from the iPad & iOS and integrating them into the software in a move that could possibly spell the beginning of a future-proof and unified OS.
It’s not a secret that today is the day when Apple announced their earnings and sales figures for the third quarter of 2012, but it may come as an exciting shock that the earnings call managed to slip in a little piece of information relating to OS X Mountain Lion.
During the WWDC keynote last month, Apple announced that Mountain Lion - the upcoming version of OS X - will be available for download for Mac users in July. And just like we had expected, the Gold Master build of said OS has just been seeded to registered users of Mac Dev Center.
