Sources close to KT – the exclusive iPhone provider in South Korea has hinted towards a possibility that Apple may launch its next generation iPhone 4G as early as April 2010. Talks are said to be already under way over sales volume of the device in question. The Korea Times, who claims to have heard some of it says that KT could be distributing the next-gen iPhone to corporate clients as a “litmus test” in April, and to the local distributors in June.

According to a recent job posting, the iPhone team at Apple is looking for a software engineer with expertise in WiFi a/b/g/n and related specifications. According to the latest report from DigiTimes, Apple has contacted OmniVision regarding 5 megapixel CMOS image sensor (CIS) orders for the next generation iPhone 4G model which is expected to hit shelves in summer 2010. The order, being placed is for around 45 million CMOS sensors, which is double the estimated from this year. OmniVision is the same company which supplied the 3.2 megapixel CIS for Apple’s iPhone 3GS.

iPhone OS 4.0 Firmware Update

Last week we informed you about the first evidence, which hinted towards the possible existence of iPhone OS 3.1.3, and iPhone 4.0 firmware. Today, MacRumors has been tipped by a developer who has spotted a single instance of iPhone OS 4.0 being used in his application’s Pinch Media analytics data. This discovery corresponds to the discovery of “iPhone 3,1” (the next-gen iPhone 4G model), which was spotted by the developer of iBart app last month.

According to a tweet posted by Eldar Murtazin (editor in chief of Mobile Review) on his twitter account, Apple has contacted Foxconn regarding orders for the next-gen iPhone. Foxconn is the manufacturer which Apple uses for their various products like the iPhone, Mac Mini and iPod line.
