Brandon Miniman of Pocket Now has posted a very interesting video in which he compares the operating / homescreening system of Windows Phone 7 against iPhone 4 running iOS 4.x. Both have certain similarities along with places where WP7 and iOS completely take separate paths.

Microsoft has finally taken the wraps off its shiny new web browser: Internet Explorer 9. The beta version of IE 9 is now available for download for users running both 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Vista.

This is probably the most epic event we’ve seen so far by Microsoft ! To celebrate the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) milestone of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft today arranged a special event to mark the funeral of both Apple’s iPhone and RIM’s BlackBerry. The event took place outside Microsoft’s Redmond campus last week, with employees dressed up in weird dresses, with the hearses of iPhone and BlackBerry.

Microsoft’s co-founder Paul Allen has sued 11 major companies: Apple, Google, Facebook, eBay, AOL, Yahoo!, Netflix, Staples, Office Depot, OfficeMax and YouTube, claiming that they have violated four different patent rights which his company Interval Licensing LLC owns.

It is one sexy looking mouse by Microsoft with a design very similar to the last-generation Arc Mouse by Microsoft, except that this one has touch-sensitive shell on top, and you can curve and straighten it anyway you like! kinda combination of Magic Mouse + Magic Trackpad !Awesome isn't it?
Modding the Xbox 360 firmware has been around for quite some time now which enables you to download images of games from different sources, burn them onto a DVD and run them on your console. Of course this is useful if you want to backup your discs but this is something Microsoft doesn’t want you to do for obvious reasons. The all new Xbox 360 Slim (or S) which was released in June 2010 at E3 had a new protection installed on the drive which made all the previous mods useless. But if this video is to be believed, hackers have managed to hack Xbox 360 S / Slim to run writable discs. Video after the break.
I was going through YouTube this morning when I came across this video showing a comparison between a Windows 7 based Slate PC and an Apple iPad. What was surprising for me was how in some places the Windows 7 based “Hanvon” Slate did better job than its iPad counterpart - Internet Explorer 8 was faster to load pages than Mobile Safari, the YouTube web app on Windows 7 was certainly loading videos much faster than the native YouTube app on iPad and so on.
