It's becoming increasingly obvious that the technology world is accelerating at an unprecedented pace, something that is occurring with both hardware and software. That has never been more evident when Mozilla released Firefox 15 to the general public a few days ago, and a beta build of version 16 is already available for testing. Those millions of web users around the world who choose Firefox as their main desktop or mobile browser have barely had a chance to familiarize themselves with version 15 and now Firefox 16 beta is here to be played with.
Although Apple themselves have been the center of attention for most of the last few weeks due to the imminent announcement and launch of the new iPhone, there has been an organization that has dared to try and steal Apple's thunder in the last week. Those guys are the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and have taken it upon themselves to thwart the hype around the new iPhone by blasting the Curiosity Rover onto the red planet to send images back to earth that document its findings.
Mozilla's Firefox has been around for quite a while now, and despite Google continually pushing updates of its fast-growing Chrome browser, Firefox has continued to remain resilient, altering its own release schedule in a bid to stay relevant. Hence, here we are at Firefox 14, and just six weeks after Firefox 13 was seeded on Mozilla's servers, and the fourteenth iteration still manages to offer a bunch of useful changes.
Just days after the final version of Firefox 12 was released to the public, developer Mozilla as already taken the wraps off Firefox 13 Beta, which, as we've come to expect from these short interval releases, doesn't bring much of significance to the table.
I know what you're thinking, you only installed Firefox 10 a few days ago on your desktop and Android devices, and the beta of Firefox 11 is out already? Well yes, it does seem that Mozilla are pumping out updates faster than a steaming freight train, but worry not as the beta version of Firefox 11 may just bring some updated goodness that appeals to you if you are a fan of the foxy browser.
With 3G and 4G connections being what they are, many turn to their iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices for a little on-the-go backup internet. Unfortunately, despite many carriers offering unlimited web access, unauthorized internet tethering doesn’t come as part of the deal, and some – namely AT&T – have been swiftly altering consumers’ packages to include tethering for those caught surfing via third-party devices.
A mere two days have passed since Mozilla dropped the official final release of Firefox 8 for public consumption, and already, Mozilla has seeded the first beta version of Firefox 9, and we used to complain about Chrome having the fastest release cycles.
Finally after a series of betas and a candidate release, the official release of Mozilla's Firefox 8 is now available for download.
