Earlier rumors suggested that iPhone 5 will actually come with a global support which means it will have both GSM and CDMA radios. The rumor had its basis in the Qualcomm Gobi cellular/data chipset which was found included in the Verizon iPhone 4 when it was taken to pieces.

Even though the first-gen iPad 3G was sold unlocked in United States, there was a certain amount of uncertainty this time (because of two carriers: AT&T and Verizon) on whether or not Apple will sell it unlocked again in this region.

Despite having a redesigned antenna, it seems like iPhone 4’s “antennagate” isn’t over it. After taking it through their regular test, iLounge has discovered that the CDMA based iPhone 4 on Verizon suffers from the same antenna issues that plagued the original GSM iPhone 4, which was launched back in June last year.
