Never the ones to miss a good game and movie tie-in, Hasbro has released its latest iOS, Android game on the App Store and Play Store, respectively.
It's not uncommon, particularly given the popularity of the mobile gaming industry, to see long-standing titles and franchises ported through to the likes of iOS and Android, and having long since been a favorite of the strategy fans, Age of Empires is poised to make its debut on the App Store and Google Play very soon. In an attempt to ramp up anticipation, a new trailer of Age of Empires: World Domination has just been released, and although it's only a one-minute preview, we cannot wait to dive straight in!
Grand Theft Auto 5 wasn't just the biggest release in the gaming calendar last year, but an entertainment launch of unprecedented proportions, smashing numerous records including many of those consistently claimed by Activision's Call of Duty franchise. But despite incredible successes in 2013, the story of GTA 5 has not yet reached its conclusion, with an upscaled launch headed to the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 in due course. To give us an idea of just how much better it will look on the next-gen machines compared to those preceding, a new side-by-side clip has been released of the title on PS3 vs. PS4, and as you might imagine, the difference is stark.
The football World Cup is undeniably the biggest sporting event of this year, with thousands of fans descending on Brazil while hundreds of millions tune in at home, work, and just about anywhere with a connection or TV signal. But the football itself is just the tip of the iceberg - the spectacle, the carnival atmosphere, the fanfare - the World Cup well and truly takes over lives, and in the spirit of things, one app developer has thrown out its immensely popular football app for free!
With E3 commencing today, it's all about the games, and with Microsoft having spilled the details on a bunch of eagerly-anticipated titles including Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Halo 5, it's almost Sony's turn to take center stage and unleash some announcements of its own. If you're a PlayStation fan and have been eagerly awaiting news, you'll be pleased to learn that Battlefield Hardline has just arrived as a beta to the PlayStation Store, and with a simultaneous beta also rolling out for PC, fans of the immensely-popular franchise will be able to aid the process of creating yet another great installment.
Digital delivery is very much the future of how we are going to get our games, and with PSN, Xbox LIVE, Steam and others going great guns, the days of having to wait for a little plastic disc to arrive in the post are thankfully coming to a close. The lack of having to send anything trough the postal system allows companies to offer big discounts at times too, something that Steam has very much taken advantage of over the years.
Codemasters has many a Formula 1 game under its belt, and as a long time fan of both the company and the sport, I can vouch for the fact that most of them have been pretty darned awesome. But having churned out so many titles boasting cutting-edge graphics, realistic game play and very plausible simulation of the many great tracks across the world, the game maker has now come through with a spot of arcade fare in the image of SEGA All-Star Racing and Mario Kart. The animated experience is all about non-stop, unadulterated fun, and if you're a sucker for this kind of thing, then check the details after the break!
Earlier on this month, Riley Testut - lead developer of the popular, jailbreak-free GBA4iOS emulator - announced via Twitter that he had taken the emulator after a DMCA complaint from Nintendo. At the time, Testut removed download links as well as the GitHub page, but also, hinted that it perhaps wasn't the end of the road. Clearly, he was already making moves to reinstate GBA4iOS, and having apparently modified the emulator in compliance with Nintendo's quibbles, those interested in playing old Game Boy Advance titles can dive right in once more.
When it comes to the Mac vs. PC debate, there only tends to be one winner in the eyes of gamers, and thanks to its broader reach and general versatility in upgrading hardware, Microsoft's ecosystem is favored almost all of the time by the gaming faithful. Nevertheless, publishers still strive to release titles for OS X even if considerably later than the corresponding PC editions, and if you love your Mac just about as much as you enjoy a little first-person action in Call of Duty, you'll be pretty stoked to learn that both Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 are now available to download.
Just when you thought it was safe once more, it seems the Internet is again awash with news of Flappy Bird or, at least, its creator.
