If Mashable’s Ben Parr is correct, and his sources aren’t telling him lies, Facebook is set to launch its much-anticipated iPad app during Apple’s yet to be announced special event for the release of iOS 5. This same event is expected to also play host to the iPhone 5 announcement.

If you’re an avid Facebook developer, or just someone hoping to make more online friends, you might be pleased to learn that Facebook is holding its traditional developer event, known as “f8”, on September 22nd in San Francisco. Out of the additions that might be introduced there, a Facebook client for the iPad seems to be the most obvious one.

Facebook hasn’t released any official client for iPad yet, this is probably because their CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg believes that iPad isn’t as mobile as our smartphones.
