It's one of the reasons that Google's Android is often preferred over Apple's iOS, but Google Now is no longer an Android-only affair, with the personal assistant now available for the competition's iPhone and iPad devices.
Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Tab 3, a 7-inch successor to the Galaxy Tab 2, and although the new numbering suggests a reasonable level of upgrades, the device looks almost identical to its predecessor and is scarcely much more advanced when you peek at the specs. The slate, which runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1, is perhaps more of a refresh than anything else, although in yet another move by the Korean company to blur the line between smartphone and tablet, a 3G model will emerge next month with calling capabilities.
Windows Phone is still not quite gaining the traction it needs to worry the likes of Apple and Google, but few can argue that Microsoft hasn't made some important improvements to the platform since its introduction. The T3 YouTube channel has posted a very interesting looking concept render of a Google smartwatch, designed very much in the image of the search giant's Nexus brand of products.
