New iPad mini Won’t Arrive Until Much Later In 2024 At The Earliest

Apple might have just announced the new M4 iPad Pro and a refreshed M2 iPad mini, but there are still other parts of the iPad lineup that need some attention.

We still expect Apple to update the entry-level iPad as well as the iPad mini, but those waiting for the latter should probably make peace with the fact that they might have to wait a little while yet.

Writing in the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple probably isn’t going to launch a new iPad mini any time soon.

Answering a question on the subject, Gurman said that potential buyers shouldn’t expect a new iPad mini “until the end of this year at the earliest.”

That might suggest that we will have to wait until 2025 for Apple’s miniature iPad to get some love, with the tablet expected to sport an upgraded chip, a new camera, and likely a fix for the jelly scrolling issue that plagues the display of the current model. No overall design changes are expected, however.

The new M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air are both now available for preorder after being announced at the Let Loose event last week. Both tablets are set to officially go on sale on Wednesday, May 15, with those who got their preorders in early set to receive the tablets on that date.
