13-Inch And 11-Inch iPad Air With M2 Announced: Specs, Features, Price

Apple has today announced the updated iPad Air 6, a new tab that refreshes the existing 11-inch form factor and adds a whole new 13-inch model to the lineup.

The new tabs were announced as part of the Let Loose event which also saw Apple revamp the iPad Pro and announce the Apple Pencil Pro.

The new iPad Air is the most powerful model to carry the name to date after Apple ditched the outgoing M1 chip in favor of the new M2 version. The existing 11-inch tab has been updated while the addition of that huge 13-inch iPad Air means that buyers now have an option other than the 13-inch iPad Pro when choosing their big tab.

Apple notes that the new tab’s M2 means for a faster CPU and GPU while the Neural Engine is also upgraded to allow for improved AI workflows.

Apple also pointed out that the new tab moves the FaceTime camera to the side of the device for improved video calling in landscape mode, while the tab also supports the new Apple Pencil Pro alongside the Apple Pencil (USB-C).

Both screen sizes are available in new blue and purple finishes, along with starlight and space gray, with prices starting from $599 for the smaller model.

Choosing the 13-inch iPad Air means paying $799, although both models start with 128GB of storage for the first time. Other storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations.

Deliveries are expected to begin starting May 15.
