iPhone 6 SIM Tray, Touch ID Sensor, Flex Cables, More Leaked In New Set Of Photos

Having spent months tracking the progress of the iPhone 6 on pure speculation alone, the apparent commencement of the manufacturing process has enabled us to check out some real leaks of the device’s hardware. From the umpteen outer shell leaks to the showcasing of several internal components, the pile of solid evidence has been piling up almost by the hour, and adding to this sizeable load, we now have some high-quality shots of the Touch ID sensor, SIM trays, and a few other bits and pieces.

In truth, the leak doesn’t show us a great deal that we haven’t seen before, but it’s the quality of the images that really counts here. Hitherto, an overwhelming portion of iPhone 6-related photos have been blurry or otherwise of generally poor quality, but at this point, whoever took these snaps clearly also took their time over the process.

First and foremost, you’ll see the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which is detailed in white with silver trim as well as Space Gray. There’ll also be a gold variant for the gold model, with the SIM tray leaks also offering a glimpse at all three color configurations, and despite the early suggestions that Apple may meddle with the color options, it would appear that this is, at least, one element that will remain from the current flagship iPhone 5s.

The flex cable, which we’ve also seen on numerous occasions, was also leaked, as well as the Wi-Fi module.

As a treat, the bundle of images also showcases the rear shell in all of its gold, shimmering glory, and although the plastic inserts – for the benefit of signal and coverage quality – have been baulked at by an Anti-Plastic Brigade usually more focused on what Samsung is plotting, it’s hard to refute the general aesthetic changes that Apple has made here.
