iOS 14.5 Adds Support For PS5 DualSense And Xbox Series X Controllers

Apple released iOS 14.5 to developers yesterday, giving them their first look at the update in beta form. We’re still learning about all the changes that the update has to offer and one of those is the addition of a feature gamers are going to love.

With the beta installed people are able to make use of their PS5 DualSense and Xbox Series X controllers on iPhones and iPads.

While it hasn’t yet been confirmed, we’d expect that the same feature would also be available to Apple TV and Mac users via their own respective betas either now or in the future.

The new beta update follows the news from November that said Microsoft and Apple were working together to get Xbox Series X support into iOS and it made plenty of sense that the DualSense controllers were also on the radar.

As Apple continues to add games to Apple Arcade gamers will surely want to be able to play using the controllers they already have. The PS4 and Xbox One X controllers are already supported, of course.

This new iOS 14.5 beta has other treats in store for us including the ability to unlock your iPhone with your Apple Watch when you’re wearing a face mask.
