We’ve seen an abundance of weather-based tweaks since the Evad3rs team broke through iOS 7 with its Evasi0n jailbreak tool, but a new entry to the Cydia Store by the name of Weatherboard offers a distinct twist. For, instead of helping you actually ascertain the current temperature, wind speed, precipitation, or any other climate-related info, this tweak simply lets you enjoy the undeniable beauty of mother nature in all its glory. With a total of more than 80 animated wallpapers, you can set your lock and home screens to any condition you like, so whether you find the visuals of lightning to be therapeutic or wish to dream about the summer clouds drifting by, this tweak is definitely for you.
You can readily set different wallpapers for the lock and home screens, with all configuration occurring through the Settings app. So while, for example, your lock screen could be caught up in a tropical storm, your home screen could bring a little calm to proceedings with a nice, clear night sky.
As well as being able to apply separate animations for the lock screen versus the home screen, you can also select between night and day, and it must be noted that each and every animated wallpaper is nicely polished, accentuating the clean aesthetics of iOS 7 while subscribing to its minimalistic approach.
The tweak costs $1.49, and can be picked up from the BigBoss repository. Ideal if you’re looking for a ways to bring iOS to life, Weatherboard makes a nice addition to the fold, and with so many different options to choose from, this tweak offers excellent value for money.
The developer also notes of his plans to add location-based weather wallpapers in future updates, so for your small investment, you quite a bit of bang for your buck.
