Just like other smart plugs, the Wemo Mini can be scheduled to turn on and off at specific times of day, or controlled manually via the Wemo app on your iPhone or Android device. There’s also a fancy “Away Mode” that can be used with non-smart lights. This turns those lights on and off to simulate activity when you are away on vacation, giving the impression that someone is home. If you’d rather have full control, these plugs can also be accessed remotely no matter where you are, too.
As with all good smart home devices, the Wemo Mini smart plugs can be controlled via Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant right out of the box, but a Wemo Bridge is needed if you want to use HomeKit and as a result, you’ll also need that bridge to use Siri.
