HomeUI Brings Native visionOS Apple Home App To Vision Pro Which Apple Didn’t

The Apple Vision Pro has been on sale for more than a month now, but the only Home app that you will find preinstalled is the one that normally runs on the iPad. Like so many of the apps that Apple shipped, the Home app has yet to undergo a refresh that makes it a real visionOS app.

But you don’t have to wait for Apple to get around to doing it — you can download HomeUI now instead.

The app, which can be downloaded via the App Store for $9.99, brings the Home experience to the Apple Vision Pro in a native way that Apple has chosen not to do.

Built from the ground-up for visionOS, HomeUI lets you place interactive HomeKit controls around your home. Seamlessly control your lights and accessories with sight and gestures in a way that fits your lifestyle. Keep an eye on your home security with live camera feeds and lock controls. Use scenes to trigger complex pre-defined automations.

The HomeUI app supports all of the accessories that you would expect including cameras, lights, switches, outlets, fans, locks, and more — and there is also support for Scenes for those who have configured them in the Home app, too.

With HomeUI, you can place the individual HomeKit controls right on the physical controls themselves in your space and then interact with them directly with your eye+hand gesture. It works really well!

HomeUI also supports live HomeKit camera feeds that you can place anywhere in your virtual space for monitoring.

You can of course download the app as it is now while the developer says that it is under development and will add new features in the future.
